About Johnny Cash
John R. Cash (born J. R. Cash; February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter. His music often explored themes of sorrow, moral reflection, and redemption, particularly in his later work. He had a deep bass-baritone voice and was accompanied by the Tennessee Three, a backing band noted for its distinctive guitar rhythms. Cash was known for performing prison concerts and frequently wore an all-black stage wardrobe, which led to his nickname "Man in Black."
