About Hum

Hum is an American alternative rock and post-hardcore band formed in 1989 in Champaign, Illinois; the band performed a mix between both genres obtaining a characteristic heaviness that would define them for the rest of their career (this sound is also known today as Heavy Alternative). The band went through member changes until 1993, finally settling with Matt Talbot (vocals, guitar), Tim Lash (guitar), Jeff Dimpsey (bass) and Bryan St. Pere (drums) until their split in 2000.
