About Drowning Pool

There are two bands by this name: 1. Drowning Pool is an American rock band formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1996. The band’s name was inspired by the 1975 film "The Drowning Pool". Since its formation, the group has included guitarist C.J. Pierce, drummer Mike Luce, and bassist Stevie Benton, along with several different lead vocalists over the years. The band released its debut album, "Sinner", in 2001. Original vocalist Dave Williams died on August 14, 2002, with the cause reported as heart disease.
